Construction Process and Phases

When we were looking for a suitable house to spend our retirement years in, we also came across information about Žiher Houses. We visited their website and found a house that met our wishes and capabilities. We made a phone call and within a few days, we had a personal meeting with the consultant, Mrs. Mira, at Studio Žiher in Ljubljana's Stegne. We got answers to all our questions, as well as numerous other information and advice related to the new house project. Then things started to move quickly, and now we have been happily and contentedly living in our wonderful Žiher house for almost two years. And not to forget, our dog Mango is more than thrilled too.

The experience with Žiher Houses company was more than great, very responsive and quick. My wife and I quickly chose a house, made slight modifications, selected everything, and then they took over everything from obtaining the building permit to the final construction of the house. The whole process was really easy for us.

We are a family of four and we chose a Žiher house for building our home - we are really satisfied with our choice. Their passive house convinced us with excellent insulation, well-thought-out room design, and exceptional quality of living that combines comfort and energy efficiency. Despite the house being only 120 m², the space utilization is excellent, and with the heat pump and air recovery system, the climate in the house is pleasant all year round - both in summer and winter. We built during the time of COVID, when things didn't always go according to plan, but the Žiher team really made an effort and ensured that the project was successfully completed - with a result that we now happily call our home. We recommend it to everyone who wants a high-quality, comfortable, and energy-efficient home.

When the third child was on the way, we knew it was time to create our own home. We decided on a single-story Žiher house, model Petovia, which we completely customized to our wishes together with architect Tina. We are grateful that she listened to all our suggestions and implemented them more than successfully. On 115 m² of net living space (145 m² gross), we have enough room for relaxed, comfortable family life and creating our shared stories. Thank you to the Žiher team.

We decided on Žiher Houses after a thorough review of offers in Slovenia. First and foremost, we were impressed by their attitude, promptness, consistency, comprehensive presentation, and the fact that throughout the construction, everyone was always available for questions, explanations, suggestions, and information. When reviewing all offers and comparisons, we also discovered that they were right for us, as they offered the most in their basic offer compared to all others. The highest quality wall thickness and the highest budgets for choosing individual materials. This gives the customer a real choice of quality, right from the start, and the contractor shows that they care, that it's important to them, and that they really strive for the customer to live in a quality home. During the construction, things unfolded according to the original agreement, very quickly and in a timely manner. Excellent sequence of all craftsmen. Everyone did their job as needed. We even finished the house before the set deadline. I think it's worth emphasizing that they were always available for all help and questions regarding construction, even for matters that the investor officially handles on their own. As complete beginners, we learned a lot, while at the same time completely letting go and trusting, because we immediately felt that this was it. Without stress and worry, alongside all life's challenges, we built a home with the help of a great team. We are heartily grateful to the entire team for creating a wonderful home for us, and we will gladly remember the time of construction. We collaborated well with Žiher company. Those who think that a company can build them a turnkey house without any hitches along the way are deluding themselves. What's important is that we had contact, a good relationship, and even though it was sometimes difficult to find a common solution, we eventually found it. From signing the contract to construction, Žiher company did their best to stick to both deadlines and quality. Because we were regularly present during construction, communication was ongoing and good. Financially, they adhered to agreements. The execution was good. We resolved complaints together. Relations remained good. After two years, we are still in touch, there's still something needed here and there, and they are responsive. Documentation is a challenge for both us and the contractor. Perhaps some patience is needed, but with the right approach, you reach the goal. We are satisfied. We live in the house we wanted, we can comfortably survive a heat wave without air conditioning. With their fireplace solution, it's even more pleasant in winter too. It's important that the client knows what they want. That they research what's important to them and what's possible. We are responsible for thinking ahead and only then... can we be satisfied.
